NPC:Maghu

From HollowWiki
This Page has been marked as a NPC Profile.

This page describes an NPC character that is a part of Mage's Guild . You may use it in your RP freely. If you have any questions about the character, please ask Jolie .

It should be noted that Mahgu is Jolie's NPC creation, and a custom NPC paid for by Jolie for use with the Necromancer's Guild and other RP. Therefore, he is NOT actually "free" for random player use. Jolie is happy to NPC him for you at the present time. Cheers.

History

Many thousands of years ago, the black dragon Maghu laid his ancient body to rest in a mound in Vailkrin, around which would eventually grow the present Necropolis.

Maghu, however, was not entirely dead when he buried himself. A necromancer of renown, he was rivalled only by the legendary and mysterious Tiervolyn, with whom he was contemporary. Maghu reached a venerable age even for a dragon, and desiring to attain greater longevity and power attempted to become a Lich. The attempt failed, and left his body even weaker than before. Desperate to defy death, he discovered a means to keep his soul bound to his bones long after the flesh had withered off them. The price for this kind of demi-survival was steep: he needed a necromancer to revive his bones, and therefore risked being bound to the will of a lesser being as a consequence.

And, of course, he was.

Enter: Joliette Thorne

As Thanatos Domina of the Necromancer's Guild, Jolie is fond of taking Guild apprentices on what she terms "field trips". On one such foray into possible catastrophe, she took the butcher Valentin on a hunt for bones, and they happened upon Maghu's burial mound.

Resurrected, he is bound to the will of Jolie, who has ordered him to stand guard at the cemetery gates, not far from a once powerful temple.

One of his first experiences in the 'New World', as he calls present day Lithrydel, was an encounter with a mysterious book. It has piqued the ancient necromantic dragon's jaded curiosity, and Maghu is currently making preparations to explore this anomalous tome more thoroughly.
