- Little is known about mist dragons both in their sentient form and beastly form due to their solitary nature, and due to the fact that those who are unfortunate enough to gaze upon them rarely live to tell the tale. Mist dragons are distantly related to blue dragons due to their affinity for watery locations, but this is where their similarities end. Mist dragons possess a unique ability to apparate and vanish into the surrounding fogs and mists at will, which they use to confuse and avoid attacks from their prey, and to aid in their desire to remain hidden. Despite their avoidant nature, however, their attacks are swift; it is known that mist dragons use their surroundings to drown their enemies, or cast a scalding mist that burns their enemies from the inside out.
It must be distinguished that mist dragons encountered as enemies roaming the wilds have become beasts, driven mad by years of hardship. They hunt and kill at a whim and barely have any skills of communication. Beastly dragons cannot be trusted or reasoned with; trying to talk to them is the same as talking to any other unintelligent creature.
