Races

  • Some time ago I played a half elf that was feline on the other half. To make matters worse, she was bitten by a vampire. Admins were asked permission for her to have a "feline feral form" as many of the felines do which was denied despite most feline creatures having a "feral form" without admin approval. On another note, I had to quote the wiki before the "vampire" portion of her story could be approved. To the point:: If half-elf can't be a vampire (due to the three races excuse) or lycan, how can it be argued those races transmit as a "disease/infection"? Either felines have a neko/humanoid form or a feral form, not both - according to what was implied by the admin decision- but many play that they do have the ability to transform into whatever form fits the situation, be it humanoid or feral. --Breena 16:58, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

In all fairness, she was only half feline. >_> I feel the decision to deny a feral form justified. Otherwise we'd have draconians able to turn into a fully-sized dragons. ~Lirithen.

I've known some Draconians who claim to be able to do just that.......though I absolutely fail to give specific examples at this moment. ~Syrr

I think it would be great for RP if there was not only a law-enforcing body, but also a set of written laws individual to each zone. -Henric

There is a list of laws for Larket, Henric. It would be a good idea to compile an archive of laws for every territory where the law is enforced. ~Vaerate.

~I am currently looking (For the 3rd time) for the originator of the Carrion Crows. I wish to dispute your claim to them since you haven't used them in years by my count. You stopped me from reviving them once by saying "Oh, I am doing stuff regarding them" but guess what.... never happened. So can you please contact me? Thank you. -Syrr (AKA The guy with a billion characters)

Religion

Rules

It makes no sense to me that a game with limited player characters should be limited further by alting regulations. It is undeniable that certain races are favoured over others, and because the players have the choice of only one race then those such as Orc, Troll, Ogre etc. are all but ignored. Consequently entire areas are without RP (Gamorg and Kregus for example) and some clans are failing because of (in part) a lack of characters that fit the ideals of the clan. This also creates the problem of people who tire quickly of their characters and leave RP without conclusion because of the urge to try something else and a lack of the potential exotic variety Hollow is capable of housing.

I would propose a more lax approach to having multiple characters, maybe a limit of three per player. This would bolster the variety of races being played (I, for one, would welcome the chance to play a Goblin for kicks) and ultimately enrich RP in the game as a whole. Sure, there will be those who exploit this by using multiple characters to gain an advantage in an RP, but immediate harsh punishments upon discovery (I would recommend an auto-kill for both characters involved in the RP and a month long ban) would act as a suitable deterrent to keep people from trying, and those who were daring enough to break the rule would not be keen to do so again. Perhaps a list of rules for an alt, what is and isn't acceptable and an outline of the repercussions would help, but the leash of one character is a severe hindrance to the vast possibilities Hollow can facilitate. ~Lirithen.

~ I fully agree with this statement -Athxess

~ A Yay from me as well, with special emphasis on the guideline that a player should not have any relation or plot sharing between their alts. I'd also like to add that not only race, but characters in general are limited by this rule. Most players seek "High Fantasy" characters, which tend to be (redundant in my opinion, although not lacking in creativity necessarily) the same types of characters and god-forsaken murderous folk that leave interactions and plot development hurting or lacking in some way. With alts, maybe they would counter this and there would be more 'normal' characters, and thereby much deeper atmosphere within the realms. I'm thinking guardsmen, artisans and commonfolk, statesmen, etc. that most are unwilling to play in lieu of their mythic characters. -Fibs

~ Me and my 250+ past characters agree. This whole "One character" thing is why I've chewed through so many ideas in 7 years. I mean let's face it... I've played so many characters that I can't remember the last 12, let alone the last 100. By now I figure I have somewhere between 250 and 500 characters. Demelza, Sindle, Skellum (I am still waiting for Riss to make the custom headpiece "Skellum's Hat" nudge nudge) and all my other characters would have liked to live longer. I VOTE YES..... 250+ times. -The Dude with a Billion Characters (Currently Syrr)
