Golden Cage of Sand - (Hands)

Description:

An ornate cage of burnished golden metal, approximately 12" in diameter, encasing a swirling maelstrom of sand at its heart. The metal twists and bends in almost organic and random curves, as if molten metal was poured freely onto an invisible sphere. The spherical artefact gives off a quiet hissing noise at all times as the sand spins and wheels within it. Odhranos wears the cage strung on a simple dust-worn rope at his side.

History:

Created as part of an experiment performed by the Mage's Guild in secret many years ago, the cage is a vessel that contains the consciousness of a sand dragon, removed unwillingly from its body as part of the experiment. The artefact was encountered by Odhranos in the hoard of the dragon Raiez, whereupon he was possessed by the consciousness, which goes by the given name of S'erok Lamaar. Odhranos has since made peace with the spirit within the cage and it is rarely far from his side. It provides the terramancer with a near ceaseless source of sand with which he can ply his magic.
