Fight:Carad v Misaki

From HollowWiki

Town Well

Carad heard of this Xalious Tree, a tree that is like one other that she has seen with her own eyes. She had made her way to Xalious and now finds herself in the vicinity of the Town Well and the Xalious Tree in the distance to the south. She sets her bag down near the well, much to the distaste to the red panda creature inside. The elf looks to be really really young and carries no other weapon or tools with her, and her clothing is nothing but leather. It seems the female doesn't know how dangerous the main land can be and how different it is from Rynvale Island.

Misaki was leaning against the wall when she heard footsteps, and the sound of a bag being put down. She turned and peeked over the edge of the well, spying the elf. "...greetings," the avian said, standing to her full height of five feet. Petite woman. Her black crossbow at her side shined eerily in the light of the fading sun.

Carad jumped a bit, only because she wasn't expecting someone to be here behind the well. At first she didn't speak as she looked the avian over and a rather short one too, which made her smile and nearly giggle. She herself was probably taller than the avian, "Evening. I might say, you startled me. I wasn't expecting you to be there. I thought I was alone here, well, except fo Flameo." Her hair is pulled back into a long pony tail, an effective way of keeping her long locks out of her face and blinding her from seeing what she needs in order to keep herself safe and out of harms way.

Chakor was walking past the town well on his way to do some meditating at the Xalious Tree when he notices his friend Misaki across the way. Looking around more closely he sees and elven mage standing across from her. 'Oooh' he thought in a pleased manner 'Could my feathered friend be about to scrap with a fellow traveller? This I'll have to see.' Taking a moment to survey the area, he finds a comfortable looking tree to relax under. Making himself comfortable, he returned his eyes back to his friend and her adversary. 'This should be good" he though quietly

Misaki tilts her head. "...I see," she said, "I apologize for startling you." She smiled. "...I assume Flameo is the one in your bag." The sniper had obviously noticed the slight movement of her bag. "...I am Misaki," she said, extending her hand, "a hunter, and a fighter. You are?"

Carad picks up the movement of Chakor and keeps her eye on him as the avian speaks once more. Now she glances down to her bag with a nod of her head, "Carad. I'm seeking the Mage's Guild in hopes to enter and find a teacher that can help me on my gift I have been blessed with." She never shook hands in Rynvale, her parents saw it as disrespect and she did too, but she didn't want to anger this woman, but the way she was raised came though and she kept her hands by her side, "Pleasure to meet you, Misaki." Flameo poked his nose out of her bag to assess the situation on if it was safe to come out or not. He remaind in the bag for some time, waiting for more to happen to make his choice final.

Misaki lowers her hand. She understood if not everyone were keen on handshakes. "...do you fight, Miss Carad?" she glanced at the animal poking its nose out of the bag, then back at Carad. "...I might know a teacher, depending on what your 'gift' is, exactly."

Carad shakes her head, "I do not. I do what I need to do to survive from day to day and fighting is not one of them. I'm sure I will be doing a lot of it in the Mage's Guild. But, until I get there, practice my moves in solitude until I know I am ready to actually use them with the fire that my seems to house." Flameo stayed put in the bag, but he flipped the flap over so that he could see better and keep an eye on his friend and caretaker.

Misaki shrugs. "...I find the best way to learn is to practice against another person." Her hand was already going for her crossbow. "...practice is key, no?" She smiled, "I'm survived the worst of injuries. It'd take a lot to make me kick the bucket."

Carad thought about the idea of practicing with another, while watching that hand of he avian's move. She knew she would have to be ready, so she moved her left leg in an outward circle around her body where it came to rest behind her. She planted it firmly on the ground, but reamind on her toes. Now her right foot stuck out in front of her, again presed firmly to the ground but on her toes still. She brought her right arm in and agains't her side in a balled of fist and extended her left with her palm facing outward and open. "Practice makes perfec from what I hear, so it shouldn't hurt to have a bit of a go atthis fighting thing." She nodded her head to let the other know she was ready, a fire burning within her eyes, her heart beating agains't her chest and her breathing relaxed and deep.

Misaki smiles a little evilly. "Since you're new, I won't use my crossbow," she said, pulling the weapon off her hip and tossing it to the side. Did the crossbow... just melt? In midair, in a flash of whirling shadows and darkness, the crossbow transformed. What landed not too far away was a handsome man in his mid thirties, wearing a tailcoat. Satoru the crossbow bowed to Misaki. "...if you insist, Mistress," she said in his deep voice. Misaki extended her wings, as if take flight - but no! It was a feint! She instead charges forward, curling her hands into fists. She pulled her arm back, as if to hit the elf in the face - but no! That was a feint as well, instead the avian kicked off the ground, making herself backflip in midair and aim with her feet, to kick the mageling in the head. From above.

Carad flinched every time Misaki pulled her faints off. The seventeen year old may be an elf but she has a lot to learn before nothing surprises her anymore. That right arm that was tuced to the elf's side now thrusted out and up to push the avian's legs and feet aside, even as she turned her her head, but she caught the tip of the foot with her chin, knocking her off balance, but she quickly righted herself by rocking back on her heels and digging them into the gound before rolling back to her toes. She steps forward with her left foot, her right arm circling around sideways, returning to it's tucked position and closed fist, only to be thrusted out and flames spewing forth from an outward facing and opened palm. Those flames were strong as they made their way from the elf and to where the avian would be landing. But she forgot that the creature before her ahd wings nad could change directins. Her breathing is still calm, but her eyes burned a bit with the sting of pain in her chin. Never before has she been hit in the face.

Misaki twists in the air when she noticed the flames. She managed to avoid the damage for my most part... but alas! The flames managed to graze the woman's corset, and catch it on fire. The moment she landed, she kicked off the ground into the air. Cursing herself for her stupidity, she landed on the ground not far away. "Didn't see that coming," she complimented the mageling, "let's turn up the heat then, shall we?" She shot forward again, this time gliding on the ground. Hoping to trip the young elf... if she succeeded, she would then procedd to pin the elf, for better or worse. If not... she would just as easily be able to veer off to make another attack.

Carad can't match the speed of a flying avian and was taken off guard as she was tripped, but she fell on her back and watched as Misaki tried to pin her down, but she opened her mouth and spat out flames, a technique she learned from the dragon her family had made a friend of. but she couldn't keep it up long, being only a mageling with much needed training. Fire wasn't the only thing she relied on. Depending on how she was being pinned down, she would use her head to try and headbutt the other, even though that is really a last resort kind of thing. "You call pinning someone down as a fight?" she asked in a deep breath, in hopes to distract the other if her short lived fire breath didn't work as well as her possibly poorly aimed headbutt.

Misaki had the elf pinned down for a moment - and then the elf spat fire! She jumped back, flapping her wings hard to dodge. Too easy. "...it's all part of brawling," she said, "would you rather I used this instead?" From the back of her bodice, she grabbed a foot-long blade, shining in the dim light. The sword itself wasn't magic - nothing special. But Misaki knew just where to cut people to make them squeal like a pig. Snipers have that advantage.

Carad jumped up and resumed her starting position, only to go wide eyed at the sight of the sword. She had no weapon of her own but her fire and skills to fight bare handed. She narrowed her eyes and took in a deep breath, the elfling unafraid of being cut or sliced by a metal weapon. Now she stepped forward with her left leg and thrusted out with both arms, allowing the fire to escape her body through her open palms. "Less talk and more fighting..." retored Carad. She was into this fight, possibly forgetting that this was pactice and not a real deal, but she was acting very much like it was.

Misaki grins slightly. "...if you're going to go that far..." she said, then yelled, "SATORU!" Satoru shot forward like an arrow, already dissolving into shadows. Misaki reached out a hand, grabbing the mass of shadows in time that Satoru finished his transformation, becoming the dark crossbow. Misaki shot forward towards the fire, unafraid. Satoru was already working magic, causing the fire to vmoe apart from Misaki's form - but it proved to me too fast, for Misaki lost bits of her already smouldering corset, and the lower half of her left leg of her leggings, leaving criss-cross burns in both areas. She loaded a bolt into Satoru and fired wildly - not to injure of maim the elf, but to get her pinned down so she couldn't move. In which case the avian would proceed to kick the younger lady in the face.

Carad jumped out of the way and rolled to her feet where she continued the movement as a high kick is thrusted up and a fire ball is aimed just before the avain, to slow her down as a surprise. As soon as she kicked, her feet were on the gound and moving and she was running towards the Well, where she used her flexibility to work her way on top of it and to jump at Misaki to grab her and bring her down to the ground, where she would aim a well placed punch to the avian's belly.

Misaki was shocked when the elf managed to move. The fireball was ignored, because at that moment, the elf was grabbing her -in midair-. She didn't think - she let og of Satoru, letting him drop to the ground, and grabbed the Elf's upper arm and twisting in midair, so she was on top when they landed. That would make at least a few bones crack, considering the hard-packed Summer ground. But Misaki used her wings to slow down the descent enough that it would bruise, not break. Misaki would then proceed to use her arm to press down gently on the elf's throat. "...you're good," she said to the elf, "but what you lack most is focus. You think too much about the moment, not what can happen in the future." Like she's one to talk. "...I see a bright future for you," she said, letting the elf go and standing up, "you'll make a fine warrior." She offerred her hand, to help the mageling up.

Carad would surely be bruised after that and new defeat when she saw it. She laid there and listened to what the Avian had to say and would take it to heart, but she still had the mage's to look forward to to teaching her more. "I will keep that in mind," she said as she was helped up. She made her way to Flameo and her bag and picked him up with a small grunt before moving on to the Xalious Tree.
