Duel:Pyoshia v Raziel

From HollowWiki

Background

Raziel had been to the tavern in Kelay only to find a note challenging a 'hero' to save two children from Pyo's clutches. She openly challenges the wraith and seeks her out in Larket, prepared to fight to the death if need be. The two battle and, with a lot of luck on her side, Raziel wins.

The Duel

Stakes: Pyo wins: She gets an auto hit on Raz and Raz becomes a servant of Archmosia, though not a wraith. Raz wins: She saves the children and gets an auto hit.

Judges: Svilfon (Pyoshia's), Kasyr (Mid), Roytoc (Raziel's)

Pyoshia sat atop the buildings and watched the several patrons as they tried to flee for the castle keep. Some needed shelter from the wraiths that chased them down and yet, this was little in Pyo's concern. She watched and waited for the female to appear, the one who had finally answered her challenge, the hero to save the children. When finally Raziel's appearance was made, Pyoshia's vines turned into spider like legs and descended down the building till they met the cobblestone road below. Without hesitation or words, the wraith had begun to cast a spell, no time to be wasted. The vines surged into the ground, locking the dryad in place, and dug through the earth towards her foe. Once below Raziel they reamearged around her, twisting and writhing, as they worked to form a coocoon around her body and lock her in place. The flora began as her feet, slowly working it's way up the elfs form, until it covered her from head to toe. As that finished they would begin to squish inwards, crushing bones, body, and life away with it.

Raziel enters the scene wearing a complete outfit of black, complete with fishnet sleeves and a black fedora, with a raven’s feather in the ribbon. “Kraar, away.” The elf commands her raven. She wasn’t going to fight with her ‘brother’ this time, for she had seen what havoc the dryad could cause to animals. No words are spoken to the wraith, and no expression of the blind woman’s are discernable from behind her black, wooden, faceless mask. Nor can the eyes be seen as there are no eye holes. Once Raz’s sensitive ears pick up on Pyo’s decent she would waste no time and begins encircling the wraith. She knew her tricks from the previous two times she’d ‘studied’ her motions. Once the woman is in line with the wraiths side she’d remove her dagger and send it flying to the wraith, though she doesn’t remove her sabre just yet. However, Raziel keeps herself moving, as a low humming noise emits from the woman’s mask. She was taught to hum as a form of ‘sonar’ and this allowed her to tell where things are within a good 15 foot radius. She can tell with things outside the radius, but it’s harder. So the elf remains at the farthest distance she can, she’d expect the dryad’s plant to be following from beneath her, and when a vine finally catches her ankle it is then that she removes her blade and makes a slash at the ground to remove it. Though, she expects, there’s far more to come than simple plants that wish to crush her.

Pyoshia found herself the victim of the dagger as her right shoulder is suddenly impaled by excruciating pain. Her mouth to open and release an excruciatingly high pitch shriek, the likes of which was meant to daze her assailant from further pressed assault. Pyoshia's left hand retrieved the dagger from her system with the hopefully bided time, blood to ooze freely forth down her corrupted torso. As the pain coursed through her system, her vines made a retreat, unable to pass the steel weapon without risking the loss of more. The tactics were to change, from ground to air, as birds overhead were summoned to answer their masters bidding. Three vultures flew downwards in a dive bomb type fashion, claw and beaks at the ready, eager to bite and scratch at any exposed flesh they could sink into. Their attacks were to work two ways, as they attacked away, each assault would leave behind small amounts of dark energy from the dryad. The energy would begin to weigh down the host body, in this case Raziel, and cause her to feel weighed down wherever the darkness was inserted. As the vultures added gravitational force to Pyoshia's side the dryad began to exploit this advantage. The ground beneath Raziel would begin to shift, a toxic sludge left in the cobblestones wake. A sinking earth to work it's magic, attempting to drag any upon it underneath and slowly destroy them. Air to be removed underground, toxins to insert themselves into any orifices, and eventually death to ensue once the first two were completed.

Raziel stumbles back at the horrid shriek issued forth from the wraith and entered the blind elf’s ears, but the adrenaline of fighting seemed to assist in allowing her recovery, though she’d have been stopped for a moment. She soon finds herself without the vines trying to grasp her, but there’d certainly be a new threat as birds descend upon her. Even with the ringing in her ears they’d still pick up upon the gliding of wings, and she’d growl in frustration. “Not gonna make this easy are ya?” she’d mumble, soon waiting until the birds close the range to strike at them with her sabre, hoping to slice wing or head from body. She’d curse herself at the fact she hadn’t worn her leather armor that day, as a beak gouges into her flesh, but she’d strike back at the creatures, unafraid of killing them. That’s when her noise picks up on an acrid scent beneath her, and she’d feel the earth shift beneath her. The woman begins her running again, though soon finds herself feeling weighed down from the few attacks that the vultures got upon her. Another unlucky fate that she should have a lack of blood in her system for the moment, but she’d continue to work through it as best as she can, continuing her swings. Then she’d frown and turns to where Pyoshia is, deciding to do a head on attack. Charging forth at the demented little dryad, she’d swing her sabre in an upward angle, hoping to strike across her chest, while her other hand comes forth in a fist, hoping to strike the wraith’s stomach with as much force as she can.

Pyoshia watched as her birds began to work their magic, some of the attacks getting through. The womans sabre however, was becoming more trouble then it was worth as two of the vultures met a quick demise. The third continued to swirl overhead in an attempt to get another strike in. The matters of the bird quickly seemed inferior however as Raziel surged forth and swung the sharp sabre. The sword slashed through the viney garb that wrapped around Pyoshia, into the flesh beneath, once more to cause the dryads scream. She doubled over from the pain, only to have her body quickly sent flying backwards from the fist that barreled directly into her face. The small form of the dryad was overcome with pain, little could be done to help her avoid this and the only thing she could do was run away. The spider like legs began to climb the wall of the same building from before. The remaining scavanger to swoop forth and attack once again, though it's dark energies had been released from Pyo's suffering. It aimed for eyes, face, anything above the shoulders to distract her foe long enough that the master could make a significant retreat and attack once again. Should the bird fall and the assailant give chase towards Pyoshia, her vines would extend and attack, their intent to impale the nearest piece of flesh that they might find and throw them off their wearers tracks.

Raziel smirks as both blows strike the wraith, though she’d not underestimate the creature so quickly, as that would be foolish. So, instead she’d make haste to follow the wraith, from the ground. But that bird, it was becoming quite the nuisance. Soon as it comes in to strike her completely masked face, she’d make another strike at it, and then a jab, hoping to impale the creature and do away with it, swiftly. Should the bird be defeated she’d continue her chase at the wraith dryad, ready to finish what she’d started. The dark magics of the vultures was wearing on her, however, and she’d slightly stumble. But, she couldn’t condone harm to come to a child, and that’s what pushes the woman onward. She was expecting the vines to return at any time, but the first one comes as a surprise to her, and carves into the her side, a painful yip to escape her as she stumbles sideways, slashing out for any other vines that make appear. One, however, stabs right through the elf’s left arm and out the other side, giving her a sickening feeling. She’d slice at the vine, before it could do worse, and removes what’s left from her arm as she continues after Pyo. Should she get within range the elf would move to throw the sabre at Pyoshia, like a large throwing dagger, in a last attempt to get her to be run through, and hopefully stuck to a building or tree.

Pyoshia had taken no notice as the last vulture met it's sudden demise to her blade. Instead her ascension of the building came near to the roof, almost over and safely away from the bratty insect of an elf! Suddenly, her climb was halted, her body pinned? Trapped! She was stuck to the side of the wall and unable to move. The vines scrambled to pull her over the top yet to no avail. The dryad looked down at the weapon and simply pulled it free. Without thinking the clumsy creature fell to the ground below, her garb entirely unaware of the fact that they forgot to grip the wall and hold her Pyo to it. Upon hitting the ground, a gut wrenching sound could be heard as shoulder collided first and was quickly dislocated from it's socket. All the dryad could do now was wait from her spot upon the ground, vines ready to lash out and strike like that of a scorpions tail should the female proceed further.

Raziel runs up, reaching where Pyoshia is, and taking a few quick breaths “Kraar! Bring me Blood Blade!” she’d command to the raven, whom had been waiting loyaly in a nearby tree. The large black bird swoops down, snatching the hilt of her blade within his talons and returns it to the elf. With blade in hand she’d proceed to where the dryad wraith was, slashing at any vines that make the attempt to bring further damage her way. Losing more blood was not something helpful, and the dark magic still was in her, but the elf grasps the dryad by the throat, raising her small body to slam her against the nearby building. One this is completed a bit of a malicious grin grows upon her face, from beneath her mask. “Alright wraith, I’m tired of this shyte you’re pulling.” Soon her blade would find its way to her forehead and words would be carved, crudely, into the creature in a slow and drawn out manner until the word “WEED” is there. With that she’d toss the woman aside, and pick up her discarded sabre, only to point it at Pyoshia. “Now then. Where are the children?” Raziel says in a menacing growl.

Pyoshia felt steel pierce her for the bajillionth time this battle as the word was etched into her skull. She had no idea what it said, nor anything about it but all she knew was she wanted out of here. Her hand pointed towards the roof of the building she had recently climbed. The vines began to pull upon the cobblestone path, dragging her towards the ooze pit she had made before.. Slowly, she fell into the pit and was sucked away from existance. Her magic worked it's course, for now she would have to flee.

Raziel sighs, and then resheaths her bloodied weapons. She couldn't see her pointing and thought the creature fled, until the raven informs her. "Eh? The roof?" her face would face up at the roof and she'd sigh again. Then heads toward the building. "Loooovely." she'd stand there for a while, pondering how to climb a building, and soon feels the walls and windows, as blood trickles down her arm. Once she finds a spot her fingers can fit into she'd start the climb, though it's harsh and hard for she is no climber. Thankfully, her father's training had helped her get upper body strength as she moves to pull herself atop the building. "Where?" is the simple word she'd ask the raven, and he'd point out two cocoons of vines to her. Stumbling, more or less, she makes her way across the roof and begins to cut away at the vines with her dagger, slowly working to retrieve the children.
