Duel:Kenji v Nasurate

From HollowWiki

Stakes: None.

Winner: Nasurate.

Kenji draws his katana from its sheath on his left hip. The blade of the katana gleams brightly, a sign it is indeed, very well taken care of. As the vampire raises his weapon, he stares his opponent down with crimson optics. "So, this is about honor is it?" he says in a cold, cruel voice, as if death itself were speaking. "So be it." He rushes toward his opponent, boots silently hitting the ground as he runs, his speed very rapid, as it is for his race, making him seem to appear almost invisible. As he nears the elf, he readies his katana. Using the momentum gained from his speed, he jumps high into the air, his body directly above the elf. He raises his right arm and bends it, the katana behind him,his left arm straight out so as to provide weight to tilt his body downward head first. As he rapidly falls down towards the ground, he swings the blade forcefully towards the elf's right shoulder. Should this make contact, he would then flip over the elfs head, and land on his feet.

Nasurate tilts his head forward into a nod as the vampire makes his questions. The Elf's own sword, a sturdy yet small rapier blade, is already drawn and held at his side, yet it is from the blackwood staff clamped between the slender fingers of Nasurate's right hand that, doubtless, most of Sparky's attacks would stem from. The Tree-Born mage readies himself, staff going behind his back and legs altering his stance to a side-on position, rapier extended outward in a en-guard position. Sky-blue optics lock with Kenji's crimson own, keen elvin eye-sight, coupled by the Aeromancer's unique sense of being able to track movement through the disturbance solid objects make in the air, managing to hold an idea on Kenji's position, and with expert timing from age and experience, the Elf lifts his rapier over his head, performing a dance-like twirling motion. Blades collide above Nasurate's shoulder, and katana cleanly shrugged away from Sparky's flesh, leaving him perfectly unscratched. Now facing his arrogant adversary, Nasurate lets the staff fall from behind his back and thrusts his right arm forward, star-shaped head of his blackwood tool of the arcane trained on Kenji. Through careful concentration and awareness of the air of around his body, Nasurate channels his inward energies upwards, causing his mana to change, corrupt, and become one of Nasurate's most preferred weapons. Fire. Tiny red glows erupt from the red-stone set into the head of Nasurate's staff, and quickly travel toward the points of the star-shaped head to escape into the air. Tracking their progress through the air, keeping aware of them, manipulating their path closer towards Kenji, Nasurate suddenly lets his staff fall, extending his left hand to reveal an open, empty palm, rapier having been dropped for maximum concentration. Flames, from no-where it seems, burst into a magical existance, the tiny glowing strings Nasurate had released into the air suddenly blooming into their full, burning existance. They swirl, dance, and hurtle in delicate patterns towards Kenji, thin tongues of flame to scour his form, and bury deep within holes in the assassin's armour and clothes, in hope of planting themselves directly on his Undead flesh with intent of causing horrific, crippling burns.

Kenji groans with annoyance at one of his favorite attacks being blocked. The vampire's crimson optics flash excitedly however, as his adrenaline pumps. He readies his blade once more preparing to counter whatever the elf sends his way. He quirks a brow as he sees the staff come pointing his way and jumps back once he feels the magical energies begin to shift, but it isn't enough. As the air where the staff had pointed burst into flames, the vampire quickly plants his feet into the ground, sensing the power from the blade. Combining the strength of his race, along with the speed, he swings his katana in the direction of it's blade as the flames near him, creating a fan effect. As the flames and blade meet, the flames are separated into two different waves once they meet the spinning blade, one shooting towards the left, the other from the right. The force and power behind the flames push the vampire backwards. The steel rapidly begins to heat from the flames, the sound of burning flesh can be heard as the vampire continues to rotate the blade. After several moments, from the force of the flames, the katana is forced from his hand from the pressure of the blades once the attack is dissipated. The katana lands, blade into the ground several feet away. The vampire groans as the burns on his right hand send several shockwaves of pain throughout his body, the natural healing of vampires beginning to take effect. It will be some time before the vampire can use his right hand fully. Nonetheless however, he reaches towards the blade on his right hip with his left hand, a battle worn katana, his pride and joy, a sign of a member of the Warrior Guild. He breathes heavily, closing his eyes as he plans the next attack. With his left hand, he swings the katana towards the ground, using his strength to generate pressure, towards the ground. As the katana swings towards the ground, the pressure generated causes several large and small chunks of rock and earth alike to be sent flying in the air towards the elf. Hoping the elf can't deflect them all, he watches the debris fly towards the elf.

Nasurate lifts his staff again as his fires fan out, holding it extended, ready, prepared for what may come next. Ears twitch in anticipation as Kenji reaches for his second katana, and with a careful flexing of his open hand, air spins into a small yet frenzied wind, the upward force lifting his rapier from the ground to rest the handle snugly between slender fingers. The winds calm as soon as Nasurate has hold of his blade, only to erupt forth again as the chunks of debris begin to rip themselves from the ground to be flung in his direction. This time, however, the winds flow upwards and curl into a backwards arc. Attack and defence form, for as chunks of earth are rammed towards Nasurate, they are instead caught in the upward flow of the air, and follow the arcs course to be flung back in Kenji's general direction. Through this rather ingenious combination the majority of the debris misses Nasurate completely, instead being thrown upwards before smashing into his frail form. Only very small pieces of dust and pebbles make it through the barrier, but the worst they do is cloud up the Elf's left eye as dust rests between the lids, and a particularly sharp small rock flies past his cheek, causing a light graze in his flesh. These small irritatins serve only to aggrevate the mage more, who increases the speed and ferocity of his wind arc. As a little addition to the rocks, whence the last of debris has been flung away from Nasurate and back towards Kenji, the Elf thrusts his staff forward, manipulating the wind arc into a complicated stream, and the winds twist and turn through the short distance between Elf and Undead. They split before the vampire, rise and lower, arc and curl, and charge to batter him from all sides, swirling back and forth. To the unfortunate Kenji it would feel like a great many long, bendy arms were trying to punch him repeatedly, thanks to speed of the winds, and Nasurate's experience of manipulating the arcane.

Kenji grins with both annoyance and excitement as his attack is deflected back at him. Quickly, he resheates his katana and reaches for the heavily armored sleeve on his back, kneeling down on his right knee and placing the shield in front of him. The rock and earth hit the shield, each with more force than the last, forcing the vampire back, making it force him to put more into standing his ground. A loud thunk can be heard throughout the area as the debris hits his shield. After several moments the banging stops and all becomes silent. The vampire has a feeling this isn't over, and is proven correct as the winds pick up, the first sending his shield flying from his arm. Pain echoes throughout his entire body as the very air itself seems like it is punching him, sharp jolts rattling through the vampire's body as it takes the beating, knocking the wind out of him. He closes his eyes, bearing with the pain as the onslaught continues. From the force of all the attacks, the vampire is sent hurdling in the air, only to fall to the ground harshly. He shakily stands up, breathing heavily, a long cut down his right eye, bleeding profusely. Thankfully, the eye is unscathed. The healing ability of the vampiric body immediately getting to work, stopping the bleeding, but there will be a scar on the vampires right eye. He draws his battle worn katana, and dashes for the other katana, painfully grasping it in his right hand. He has no choice, he needs to do something. Rushing towards Nasurate, running on pure adrenaline and refusal to give up, he rushes towards the elf, using the same speed he did earlier, though it is greatly slowed due to the effect of the battle. He calls on his remaining strength as he nears the elf, hoping to leave a mark of this battle as well on the elf's body. Using the katana in his right hand, he sends it towards the staff, hoping to at least provide some difficulty for the elf to counter this attack. Should this work, the vampire would hold the staff in the air with his right arm, while forcefully slashing the blade in his left towards the elf's chest. As he does so, he looks directly into the elf's eyes, showing he has no fear, and is fully enjoying this battle.

Nasurate shakes himself as soon as the last of his expelled energies leave his body and stands passively, sky-blue eyes still locked with Kenji's. As the assassin reaches to take blades, Nasurate resumes his previous side-on, en-guard pose, staff held against his back, rapier blade held proudly before his frail form. It confuses the male as Kenji lunges around Nasurate's side with his blade, and so Sparky makes an almost playful, completely harmless swatting motion against Kenji's kidney, more out of education than of anything else. To teach the opponent a lesson, show that he was leaving himself open. With concentration on other things, the blackwood staff is easily pierced from the mage's grasp, and suddenly Nasurate is at a loss for bearings. Foolishly, rapier lifting, the Tree-Born turns towards Kenji, just in time for a chestful of katana to slice cleanly through his robes and bite deep into the Elf's ribs. Were it not for those bones before his vital organs, Nasurate would of died there and then. As it is, the blow is stopped by a bone in the ribs, but it is still winding. Nasurate retreats, quickly, his now free hand slapping to cover his chest as he takes deep, frenzied breaths, forcng fresh oxygen into his empty lungs. Blood runs down from the horrid cut, staining the white of his robes, and the sudden, mad lunging movement Nasurate makes in retaliation is more of desperation than any actual planning and perception. Regardless of intent, or ideal, the sharp end of the rapier blade darts through the air, a little crooked given Nasurate's chest restriction, but more-or-less on line to pierce Kenji's skin at the thigh.

Kenji drops the katana in his burning right hand as he feels something strike his kidney, indeed, he had left himself open. He groans from the pain of the shot to the kidney. The vampire is going to be feeling that for awhile. Nonetheless, he grins devilishly as he hears one of his favorite sounds, the sound of ripping flesh, and the smell of fresh blood. Some of the blood splatters onto his face and the vampire reaches around with his tongue, licking some of it off, enjoying the taste. He laughs coldly at his opponent's pain, taking full pride in it. Breathing heavily himself, the vampire raises his katana to defend against the oncoming rapier. He will have to time this right, otherwise he will be impaled. As the point of the flying blade comes in about a meters range, the vampire swings his blade downward, the clash of steel hitting steel emanates louldly throughout the land as the blade is knocked to the ground, leaving the vampire unscathed. He then resheathes his katana and takes a knee, breathing heavily. "Not bad Nas...not bad at all."
