Duel:Karvier v Nemisis

From HollowWiki

Judges: Xarden, Daesith, Morrandir

Winner: Nemisis

Karvier looks to Nemisis, not knowing of the assassins powers he makes a general bow before he backs away a few feet, making them stand a mere twenty feet apart. He lets his moonlit gaze stand on the Draconian for a moment’s time, deciphering what weakness he may or may not have. At this point he can’t tell of any. He wonders what he’s getting himself into, his lack of battle expertise may come back to bite him at this point, but his knowledge in the field of magics would be his strength. He pulls out his Staff from behind a robe of sorts and points it at the man, “Do not think I’m going to go easy on you.” He says to him in a calm, yet excited voice, excited for his first real duel. He raises the staff in the air and the wind around starts to swirl around the very tip. The winds start blowing more and more fierce as it becomes visible around the entire staff. He calls for the winds to help greaten his attack as he thrusts it downward, sticking the butt end of the staff into the ground. The winds around start to funnel into the ground and dig through the earth beneath, only to appear three feet away, it grows as it starts getting closer to the Assassin, blowing faster as it picks up speed. But why should He stop there? The Illusionist thrusts his hands at the small twister and shouts, “onrefni”, the twister bursts into a heat of fire and continues to make its way to the man known as Nemisis, shooting flames in every which way. A small smirk appears around the Avians pallid lips, the only joy being is that if this works, his opponent would be ripped to shreds whilst burning to death.

Nemisis stands on the battlefield and walks back and forth idly as his bloody eyes scrutinize the avian known as Karvier. He chuckles slightly at Karvier words as he kicks a tiny pebble upon the floor and saying, "You better not or I'll make you regret it." Slowly the man began to prepare under the night's sky, tilting his neck to the side and rotating his shoulders bringing forth a series of cracks and creaks from those bones of his. Wiggling his fingers and stretches his hamstrings, swaying from side to side, the demi watches his opponent began to launch his first attack. Instantly he begans to analyze a counterattack as the avian brings forth the strength of the winds for his disposal. It was obvious that he was a mage of some sorts and it made the draconian grin with excitement. Finally the spell was done and the attack was launched. A twister was coming and the man prepared by revealing those majestic wings of his. They pierce through his human like skin and expanded, preparing to take flight. Just before he was hit he heard Karvier's words and flames engulfed the funnel. Nemisis sighed slightly knowing the flames won't do anything to him seeing as he absorbed the element. With a flap of his wings he dives head first into the strong winds, allowing his body to be tainted with tiny lacerations provided by the winds. However this would soon stop as he flies into the center of the attack and explodes with power. Contracting his entire body before expanding with his roar, he sends shockwaves everywhere, destroying the very structure of the twister. Glowing in a reddish aura the draconian draws forth his katana and releases a series of swings, whipping through the air and sending forth a series of scorching slashes towards Karvier. Should he miss the attack the heat alone should at least burn those wings of his. This was Nemisis' plan.

Karvier watches as his beloved twister is torn apart, and seeing the Draconian’s glow of red, his smirk drops down into a frown. He doesn’t give the assassin enough time to do his attack before he jumps to one side, and again, creating illusionary duplicates of himself. Identical in every way, scent, visage from short silver hair to bright white wings, but something would seem odd about those feathers of his, the tips are black, but to those who have seen him before the past few days would notice the black is considerably more than that time. Himself and all of his duplicates separate, in hopes to confuse the man. The duplicate he left in the center gets struck by the fiery slashes, and then disappears in thin air, giving the man a taunting wave. The other two, coming from each end holds out their hands, bright violet and silver rays are sent forth, like lighting, they long for something to hit, being drawn to the man. The rays seem harmless, but oh, they are anything but harmless. If one were to get struck, if even for a moment by one of these rays, it would cause a short jolt to the brain, making it less proficient to use all of the senses correctly. If one were to be hit for a longer period of time, they would temporarily lose them, even more, if they continue to be stuck, their brain would give out and become useless, making them a vegetable so to say.

Nemisis groans as he watches Karvier duplicates himself and his attacks are dodged. Observing the battlefield he realized he was becoming surrounding very quickly and thinks could get out of hand if he did not act fast. Just as he thought this double of Karvier's dopplegangers would try and ambush him with a stranger lightning based attack of some sorts. As they charged up the man quickly landed on the floor directly in between the two and waited. Once the attack was launched the demi hand only moments to react with a quick backflip, dodging the majority of the attack and wiping out the clones. However what he did not realized was that his brown hair caught contact and sent a tiny bit of the sparks through his follicles and into his brain. Instantly the man knew something was off when he landed and stumbled, almost loosing his footing. The attack was rather potent and his started to feel slightly dizzy and his head began to hurt. Nemisis did not know what was going on and mistook the sympton for something more grave. This fight had to end fast before troubled starts he thought and began to take action. Spinning around and lashing his tail to and fro, he carves a symbol into the ground and rams his sword into. With a series of hand signals the man rams the blade down until only the hilt showed. Instantly the symbol grew and glowed bright red. The assassin shouts, "Ninja art: Royal Serpent!" Nemisis form was covered as flames erupted from his symbol and took the form of a giant snake. Towering in the night's sky, the flame hissed before splitting, heading for all targets, Karvier, clones, all.

Karvier watches in awe as the ‘Demi’ was making his move, the back flip overwhelmed him and the rays hit, causing a big explosion. He continues watching the man from afar; who knows where e may be hiding within all of his clones? He watches as the man thrusts his sword into the ground and the fiery snake flying into the starlit sky. In the amazement of the beauty of the fire splitting, he finds himself in sort of a jam, seeing only as he has moments to react he quickly runs around the man and makes his clones run all over, in hopes of concealing himself within the fusion. He quickly puts his scepter back and pulls out the daggers, and runs to the man from behind. He lets his wings out and makes a great flap, causing him to thrust forwards, faster. He jumps as he gets close and aims the dagger to the back of the assassin’s neck. Just then, one of the fireballs left by the fiery serpent comes flying from behind himself. He gets hit directly in the back, his wings absorbing most of the damage from it, but not enough as he still ends up getting burnt on the back and his hair scorched, sizzling down to almost nothing. As the impact hits, he lets out a small scream, but all the while maintains his aim. He only goal at this point is to use this hit for help benefit himself.

Nemisis watches and looks around quietly yet impatiently for Karvier to be revealed. Still he took the time to look at his artwork of flames as they tore through the battefield and vanquished the clones and fakes. Still there was no sign of Karvier. His ears perked as he heard a flap and then a short cry of pain shortly after. Finally he had found the avian! Turning around, his eyes catch hold of a dagger heading straight for him, held by his scorching opponent. It actually looked intimidating. The grotesque sight looked as if Karvier had came straight out of hell. Nemisis ruby eyes flashed with fury and chaotic energy as he extends a palm directly in the path of the dagger. The arm sparking with chaotic energy, he released the vicious element, and rejects the entire area around him. Karvier's blade almost pierced the demi's hand but it was halted mere inches away. The reason was evident when the dust blew and the ground bowed, denting further into the earth as the rejected space is blown away with a rather strong shockwave. Karvier, being point blank of the attack has little means of dodging and is prone to being blown away.

Karvier in fact, doesn’t have any time to dodge anything as he stays there, being blown back away he flaps his wings once more, helping his as to not be killed in this. He flies back and hits a tree with his already burnt back, he lets out a cry of pain and slowly gets up, leaving a small portion of himself on the trunk. He slowly limps to the man, holding his shoulder tightly as to keep himself from crying out any more than he already has. He falls to his knees just before the man, and exhales what little breath he has left. Falling face down into the ground shortly after, he passes out.
