Arena

The arena seems to be as it always was. The fighting sport of gladiators has not grown old with the people of Larket. In the many bleachers, various townsfolk sit and watch as the two gladiators in the arena fight on. One of them is fighting with a sword, while the other has a spear and shield. You watch for a moment as the two battle each other, only to end in a gory spectacle of blood. The winner lifts up the head of the defeated as the crowd cheers and roars. Some of the men toss gold in the arena as prize, while a small number of women throw flowers. With the match over, you decide to end your stay as well.

Kain strips down to a pair of pants, then does a few stretches before heading to the center of the arena. Seeing an orc as his opponent, he grimaced. "Gonna hafta bathe after this," he grumbled, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, as he closed the distance between them. Taking a ready stance as the distance shrank, he made a rude jesture and waited for the orc to rush, planning a trip manuver if he did. Should the orc close more slowly, he'd respond differently, depending on the form of the attack.

Kurlurk enters the arena, throwing his shiny mithril and dragonscale armours to the ground along with his two axes, a Falchion, and spiked knuckles. Now he wore a pair of tight leather pants and nothing more. He entered the Arena ready for his battle against the one he now knew to be a dwarf. In his head he wondered if the Prathoryn would allow him to eat the loser of this match, obviously he saw himself winning. The Orc's stench spread lazily across the arena, easily this would be an advantage for him as he sized up the dwarf. Rushing forward he would make it appear as though he was going for a frontal attack, though quickly he would step left or right trying to keep his opponent guessing. The Massive Orc closed the distance quickly, and when the foot of the dwarf would be placed out to trip him the Orc would instead kick hard hoping to turn the dwarf around. A moment after regaining his balance he would punch with that of his right hand. The brutes strength well behind that punch as well as the next one that would follow from his left hand.

Kain sizes up the orc, as it rushes toward him. As he closed, Kain stepped back with one foot, turning a bit as the orc's foot came up. Noting the balled right hand, Kain timed his manuver, as the foot passed inches from his chest. Focusing on the fist, he grabbed for the wrist, and pulled, in an attempted hip toss. If successful, he would follow it with a knee drop onto the orc's back to put him in position, then try to grab the head and twist. With luck, he could snap it's neck before it could recover sufficiently.

Kurlurk would be forced over the dwarf thanks only to the bit of strength they carry with them and their low center of gravity. Landing hard on his back it was nothing he was not use to thanks to the many brawls him and his fellow Orc have had in the Arena of his homeland. With his battle experience he knew to grab for the dwarfs arm mid flip and and so when he would land the momentum followed by the Orcs own strength should flip him over the Orc and crush him to the ground as the Orc would now stand. Giving them both time to stand once more should they not be standing already he would stand, his side facing his foe as he chambered a kick and then quickly released a side kick that was well aimed for the dwarf's chest.

Kain rolled back up to his feet, just in time to see the kick coming at him. Reacting on instinct, he tipped back, allowing himself to fall and smacked the orc's ankle up as he did so. While it still connected with his upper chest, it did little damage, as he was already falling back. Still, there was a chance that the manuver would either tip the orc off balance, and / or stretch the tendons.

Kurlurk would land the hit just barely and because of the force of the kick and the upward push of his ankle he would indeed be knocked off balance for a short time before catching himself with both feet firmly upon the ground in a very wide stance, one that pained even him to be in. Using the stance to his advantage he looked down at the dwarf and grinned knowing exactly what he would do next. Squeezing his left hand into a tight fist he would punch downward towards the dwarves face and directly after he would pull his legs back together taking an extra moment or so to work out the awkwardness of the sudden stretch the dwarf had made him achieve. Turning back to his opponent he would punch several more times at him with what was known as a reverse punch. The Orc's rage that helped to fuel the barrage's power would surely devastate the dwarf should he still remain at the ground to take this attack, should he be standing he may perhaps evade them if he were to run, then again the dwarf may have another idea up his sleeve.

Kain rolled his legs up, as the orc came down. Allowing himself to take the hit, or several hits if needed to get the right angle, he railed upward with both feet into the base of Kurlurk's ribs with all his considerable might. Feeling his left eye beginning to swell shut already, he rolled to the side and onto his feet, then rushed at the blurry orc. Missing by several feet due to lack of depth preceptin, he stumbled to a halt some twenty feet behind the orc, where he gasped for breath. Turning to face his opponent, he blinked several times to clear his right eye, and hissed as his left continued to swell. "Damn, that gonna be a hell 'o a shiner I be sportin' fer a bit," he panted to himself, trying to discern if the blurry figure was getting closer, further, or not moving at all.
