Duel:Jesse v Raturius

From HollowWiki

Jesse begins to walk into the Gladiatorial Arena of the Undead City, the same exact Arena he was forced to fight in when he was in the service of Elghinn. A mockingly sarcastic smirk takes form upon his lips as memories of wondrous battles come to mind. And as he makes his way to the center of this familiar battleground, Jesse intakes a deep breath. His lunges are filled with the foul odor of the many dead that litter the ground, and the many severed body parts and organs that seems to decorate the arena. The wraith bends down to one knee, runs a gloved hand about the smooth sand of the arena floor, and runs it threw his hand. And as he rises, the arrival of Raturius is acknowledged. Though his back faces his friend, he lets it be known he is aware of his presence by sarcastically saying. " I thought I would find a "Rat" amongst all this filth." Jesse the turns on his heel to face his opponent, sword unleashed with startling celerity from it's slumber in the night-blue black-leather sheath that rests on a platinum belt around the death knight's waist. "I wish you luck this day Raturius, for this is not a personal matter, just I like to win." And with that said, Jesse begins to make his way towards his opponent, sword at thereadt in his right hand, shield carried firmly in the left. And as he closes the gap with a slight eagerness, the black blade he carries is raised up, and then brought down in a vertical slash that is aimed towards the torso of his opponent. This move a simple opener, its purpose to get this fight started.

Raturius unsheathes his longsword from his back as he leaps back to dodge the slash aimed for his chest. "Don't I get a 'hello, how've you been,' Jesse?" He flinches slightly as the very tip of Jesse's black sword scrapes against his chest plate with a metallic screech. He spins around to his left to get a clear look at his opponent without the blade of Jesse's sword staring him down. As he darts around for the view, a faint shimmering can be seen from the shadows cast off by the arena's walls. Raturius whistles a series of chords. Suddenly the shimmering from the shadows seems to take a life of its own. The shadow lumbers towards Jesse while Raturius circles the man who attacked him. He removes a hand from his longsword to feel the mark left on his chest plate by Jesse, "Jeez, I just bought this." He returns his hand to the sword as he raises it above his head and lunges at Jesse with the shimmering blade.

Jesse smirks at Raturius comment, and because his blade nearly met its mark so early in the duel. " We shall save the pleasantries for after the duel ole buddy!" He says as he catches his balance just in time to dodge the shadow-like being that seems to be at his opponents command. But in this action Jesse made a critical mistake, he took his eyes off his opponent. Just as the wraith brings his cerulean shaded eyes back to look for Raturius, his blade is thrusted into his gut. The pain that he feels is incredible, the cold blade seems to slide in with ease all the way to the hilt, and this is were the pain comes full blown. The impact of the blow causes Jesse to rest his head on Raturius' shoulder. Blood trickles out of his mouth as he a grunt is heard from him. He staggers for breathe as he says. " Damn old boy....seems you got me..." Jesse then, after a sharp intake of breath, brings both hands to the blade, and with a wild look in his eyes, pulls it out in one motion. A blood curdling scream is given off as he falls to one knee, short quick breaths all that are keeping him up. But he looks to Raturius, and in a surprise move, rises back up. "Its not over yet..." he stammers out, five digits of his right hand grasping the hilt of his sword once more. He then, with a large amount of effort that goes unseen, raises his shield and says. " Now...its my turn." He then lunges his shield towards his opponent, and if successful, this will give him the opportunity to land his blow with his sword, which is sent towards his legs in a downward thrust.

Raturius eyes his opponent wearily. "Aww, come on mate. Have a little fun." He whistles yet again, and the shadow he call forth melts back into the arena's flickers as easily as it emerged. He eyes the blade coming for his legs but does not realize that it is part of a two pronged attack. Raturius easily sidesteps the black metal blade, only to but himself in directly in front of the shield and the frenzied man behind it. As the shield collides with Raturius, several bone crunching sounds could be heard by the onlookers and spectators. The force of the impact from the shield sends Raturius flying like a rag doll. He impacts a side of the arena with a sickening thud. He flops down and rolls a couple times to end up panting in pain on his hands and knees. "Holy crap . . ." He spits out a couple drops of blood and hobbles to his feet. Raturius tries to raise his sword, only to find that his collarbone had been broken in the collision. He mutters under his breath, "This is bad . . ." He whistles yet again recalling the shadow from its resting spot on the arena's edges. A dull thud could be hear from the arena seats up above the two combatants. Jesse would smirk, or say something rather rude or cocky at this point, but he is in too much pain, and this is a good friend of his. And as he tries once again to raise to his full height, the would be mortal wound he now bares continues to bleed. This heavy loss of blood cause him to become dizzy and faintish, but if it is one thing that Jesse has, it is pride, and that seems to drive this undead warrior to push his body still. He begins to walk on shaky legs towards Raturius, a spell forming at his lips. But just as the incantation is be completed, the shadow that his opponent summoned to his aid rams Jesse with tremendous force upon his back, sending his with surprising velocity towards the exact wall he sent his opponent at. But a sudden idea hits this death knight, and as he flies threw the air towards Raturius, he lunges his sword out towards his opponent, using the momentum from Raturius' own shadow familiar's attack to use against him. the tip of his blade gleams in the fading, dull light that illuminates that entire undead city, and as the last seconds come, Jesse suddenly lowers his blade, and in its place, sends forth a powerful punch. The man may want to win, but he has no intention upon killing his own friend to win.

Raturius nods his head in thanks to the shadow's help, whistling for it to return to its resting place. Even in the shadows cast off by the arena's walls, he can still see the blade of the undead hurtling towards his injured form. He moans slightly as he takes a couple steps toward the armed rocket heading his direction. He lines himself with the tip of the blade aimed at his chest, remembering the beginning of the fight. He closes his eyes slightly praying to the higher beings for any luck they maybe willing to grant. He begins to spins at the point when the blade would have pierced him, but due the pain withering throughout his body he misjudges the timing. The blade pierces him below his chest plate, a couple inches from his side. He grits his teeth the pain and allows the sword to continue plunging through him until the hilt of the blade rests upon his skin. Raturius smiles weakly through the pain, at the chance to have his opponent so close to him. He drops his own sword, allowing it to clatter to the arena floor. Raturius swings a solid fist at the wound he had inflicted earlier on Jesse.

Jesse slams into his opponent, both of them then slamming into the wall, sending several cracks up and down the granite walls. And as Jesse struggles to rise up from his prone position amongst the rumble, he is met by the pain of Raturius' fist hitting the open wound on his gut. The pain sends Jesse into a frenzied pain driven bloodlust, and he begins to blindly send forth fisted blow after fisted blow in hope of inflicting as much pain as he can on this man, the pain having driven him to this point. But after a few moments, Jesse regains himself, due to running out of breath and having lost so much blood already. He falls to the left side of Raturius, the thud of the metal of his full plate armor, and the rubble of the rocks echo throughout the arena. But even still, after all of this, when there should be nothing left in him to use, Jesse begins to slowly rise once more. his pride will not allow him to quit, not even now. And as he regains his balance, though on quivering legs, he stands, ready to continue this fight if his opponent should rise. He turns his face to the side, and spits out a rather large amount of blood on a corpse. " Come....come on........ is...is that....all you got?" he says in a bluff, the man really being barely able to stand. Raturius regains his standing position, aided by the cracked arena wall. He leans over allowing blood to rush out of his mouth and then spitting out several teeth that were removed by the frenzy of Jesse. "Come here, beautiful." Raturius slowly pulls Jesse's blade out of his side with a sickening sound and throws it over to where his blade is lying. The two blades meet and a metallic clang is heard. He stumbles his way over to Jesse, using the arena wall to help him stand up. He continually trips over corpses strewn around the arena and from the unimaginable pain. As he nears Jesse, he whistles for his shadowy friend, unsure if he'll make there in time. Raturius throws another punch at the stomach of the undead, using his entire weight to help him move forward and follow through with the punch. "My friend, you're one ugly beast . . ."

Jesse readies himself for his opponent, and as he sees him throw his last punch Jesse uses shocking good timing to do what seems to be a twirl, which helps his dodge the shadow's attack and only be grazed by his opponents. Though at last, Jesse is spent, and after a moment or so of wobbling around, he falls to the ground, sarcastically saying. " At least my name isn't Rat." He now lies on the ground, blood still seeping from his rather mangled wound, the death knight a sickly pale now as he awaits to see who the winner is.
