Cliff Caves

Celinia had the letter crinkled in her grasp from her next opponent, her heart was racing with anticipation as she made her way past the two guards at the entrances, a dip of her head was given to the two. She made a mental note of the daggers at her thighs and hip and the terrain of the cave. She was glad it wasn't sand again, honestly. A roll of her shoulders were given, the light leather armor she wore giving little to no resistance in her movement. She simply waited, turning to stare at the entrance of the cave. Hand twitching that rested on the hilt of the broadsword on her hip, the only indication she was nervous.

Ariaraine was set to meet up with her next opponent here shortly. The pale woman with ghostly features almost glided into the area were it not for the crutch tucked beneath her right arm. It was clearly a crutch, not a staff in disguise, as the attire, torn cut off shorts and a form fitting shirt, worn by the woman revealed that the right lower limb was missng from above the knee. With a simple polite nod to the two guards standing at the entrance to the cliff the druid moved past them onto the cliff where she could see who she best guessed was her next challange already there waiting.

Celinia let her gaze settle on Ariaraine once she approached, the warriors head dipped in greeting once the woman was close enough. "I wish you luck." The warrior called out before finally reaching for the curved broadsword at her hip and pulling the blade from it's sheath in a swift motion, the only noise it made was the distinct sound of the nine rings that ran along the back of the blade chiming against steel. She silently prayed to whatever god would listen that the woman could move, because with little to no warning the warrior shifted her feet apart a couple of feet before she charged at the woman, aiming to bring the blade upwards across Ariaraine's chest.

Ariaraine watched her opponent carefully, taking in every movement that she made from the rise and fall of her chest as she breathed to her hand moving to grasp the handle of the broadsword. The druid kept her distance from the moment that she entered the cliff, knowing it was her best chance against Celinia. As Celinia started her approach to close the distance that was left between the two the lycan connected herself with the earth around her. It only took a split second for the connection to take and it was in that moment the ground before the rushing warrior shifted. It caused the cliff to tremble before a trench formed in the ground about two feet before Celi in hopes of causing her to trip and fall. As the rock shifted to form a gap in the floor more ground shifted at the same time sending spikes of rock shooting up toward her opponent aimed to either pierce into her flesh as she fell or stop her approach.

Celinia felt the ground rumble under her feet and she cursed loudly as the trench caught her foot as intended, causing the woman to hit the ground, knocking the breath out of her momentarily. The warrior quickly pushed herself up and backwards, narrowly missing the spikes. Great, a magic user. This was not going to be good. She huffed once before feet pushed off the ground, pushing around and past the spikes. Celinia moved on towards Ariaraine and when she closed about two or three feet of distance between her and the woman, she darted towards the right- aiming to get around Ariaraine and putting all her weight behind it, she rushed to close the distance between them and bring the broadsword towards the druids back.

Ariaraine watched as the woman rushing her way fell to the ground as the trench caught her foot. She wasted no time in moving on with the duel. As Celi rose from the ground she would notice that from the fresh cracks in the ground red flowers were blossoming, releasing a yellow power at the petals opened. The hope was to get her to breath it in as she was getting up from her fall. This powder looked similar to pollen, but if it was to be breathed in it was another effect. A toxin in the air that slowed down any that breathed it in, a sleepy effect. Knowing what would happen if she breathed in the flower's pollen the female moved backwards away from the now oncoming Celi with a limp. The movements were slow compared to the rush of the her opponent. With the gap quickly closing thanks to her opponent the druid watched her movements carefully enough to twist her form away from the on coming sword. Using her crutch Aria swung the item up in her twist to block the incoming weapon. The impact of the two meeting causing the wood to snap in two, hopefully slowing the impending hit and allowing the tip of the broadsword to slice down along the length of the woman's stump.

Celinia coughed as the pollen entered her lungs with every deep breath of air, she felt her muscles rebel with fatigue. Her mind fogging with sleep. Her blow to the crutch definitely slowed the swords swing, the edge of the blade moving along the stump. That was enough for Celinia, her sword was dropped from her right hand as soon as the blade was released from the lycan's flesh. And with more of a delayed motion, her left foot is brought closer to Ariaraine as the warrior brings her right fist around to attempt to collide with her nose, putting her full weight behind the punch.

Ariaraine having lost the use of her crutch for balance to keep herself from falling the woman was in mid-fall as the blade split open the flesh of her stump. Blood started to spill from the wound, causing the already useless item to go numb. It was not long before the lycan hit the ground, landing flat on her rear end. It was this fall that barely saved the woman's nose from beind smashed into by Celi's fist. A moment of delay came as the druid hit the ground, exhaling the breath she'd been holding and inhaling some of the pollen toxin that was still falling to the ground. As her own motions started to become slightly sluggished Aria moved kick her foot against in an attempt to not only push herself away from her opponent causing a gap again, but also to knock her off her balance too. In mid-kick the ground rumbled again as another set of spikes erupted up from the ground aimed to strike at the legs of the warrior.

Celinia felt the effect of the pollen fully now, her breaths coming out in gasps now and her eyes becoming heavy lidded. She attempted to shake the sleep away, sword dropping to the ground. Celinia wasn't, however expecting that kick to her foot, knocking it out from under her and causing the warrior to tumble backwards onto her rump. The spike was positioned perfectly, running through her right thigh. The warrior's lip thinned against the pain as the rock pierced through skin and muscle, grazing against bone before protruding out the other side of her leg, a cry escaping in a rush of her breath on impact.

Winner: Ariaraine

Ariaraine could feel the effects of the pollen starting to take effect more so than when she first inhaled it with her fall. Groaning the druid shifted her weight on the ground so that she was next to the sleepy woman whose leg was impaled by the spike. One quick punch to her head to knock her out cold. No need to make her suffer any more than she was. In pain and under the toxin of the pollen spores. Without her crutch the lycan would drag herself from the area in search of a healer for the warrior she just fought against.
