Physiology
Quite large, this odd looking relative to the dragons can range from thirty to a sixty feet in length depending on maturity and gender (males tend to be larger). These dragons have no scales, for they do not need them when they can retreat into their small mountain sized shells for protection. In rare cases, Dragon Turtles have been known to have more Armadillo-like shells. Fortunately for the Dragon Turtle, should his limbs be hacked away at while outside the protection of his shell, he has a tough hide...though not tough enough to withstand repeated slashes from a particularly sharpened blade. A Dragon Turtle's strength is tremendous, being second only to that of a Cave Dragon. Should someone come across such a dragon as this, the best option would be to run away from it. On land, a Dragon Turtle is quite slow, they could be out-ran by almost any quick footed creature.
Three things are quite obvious when looking upon one of these beasts. The most obvious of all would be the lack of wings. They live in large bodies of water where wings are not needed. Their tails, while longer than one might expect, are shorter than other dragon tails. Also, unlike most dragons, Dragon Turtles do not have the ability to stand on their hind legs. The size of the shell on their backs prevents this. Even if a Dragon Turtle could stand on his hind legs he would inevitably fall on his back.
Psychology
Dragon Turtles tend to keep to themselves and have minimal contact with any other races if at all. They do have the ability to morph into some kind of humanoid form but prefer not to. Should another race come across a Dragon Turtle the most likely outcome would be the Dragon Turtle having something new to eat. They tend not to care what happens on the surface of Hollow as long as there are enough big fish and foolish sailors to eat. The only true "friends" they tend have are that of Blue Dragons since they live in the same environment and may share food. While rare, it is not unheard of for a Dragon Turtle to eat a Blue Dragon, however.
Skills/Magics
- Breath Weapon
- If they have a breath attack, only the oldest possess it and even then it is still unknown.
- Claws
- The claws of a Dragon Turtle are sharp, long, and powerful. They can rend flesh with ease and, in most cases, pierce armor.
- Jaws
- While lined with many long razor-sharp teeth, the true danger of a Dragon Turtles jaws is in the raw power with which they can clamp down on whatever enters their maw.
- Water Manipulation
- Ability to alter water or liquid to some extent, best classified as a moderate hydromancer.
- Flight
- They can not fly.
