Physiology
Crystal Dragon physiology can be rather difficult to pinpoint. The first most obvious feature is that of their Hide; a substance of crystalline appearance which, although softer than most other dragon scales, holds the unique characteristic of being able to absorb most magical spells. For example, a direct attack with a conjured fire-bolt would do nothing, while a fire-bolt that is simply manipulated fire would still possess the chance to do damage. This is akin to an Anti-Mage, which these dragons cannot be due to the absorption of magic that is part of their genetic makeup. Crystal Dragons tend to be quite large in both size and weight, which often gives the false illusion of physical ability. They are a very old breed of Dragon, most forgotten and those that have heard of them think them only a fool's legend. One thing that is known are the two Breeds. Red Crystal Dragon and Clear Crystal Dragon.
One weakness that should be well noted is their weakness to sounds. Being Dragons with hides of Crystal has its own disadvantages. To strike one with a blunt weapon would indeed start a vibrating effect throughout the outer shell of their body, and hitting one with enough force may crush the Crystal depending on the type of Crystal it is. Also I will note their sensitive ears, being sharper than that of elves any tone beyond that of regular levels would surely prove to be a handicap for this magnificent Dragon who from first glance, is all but invincible.
History
The history of these beastly creatures is forgotten beyond what little is known from legend. Stories say that the Gold, Silver, and other Gem Dragons may be the closest relative they still have alive.
