Prelude: In The End, There's Only Silence

The Landons killed Candice Snow and her daughter and Hudson and Valrae ended the terror streak of Glenna (Cramer), Candice's Lover. With tensions high in Cenril, the Landons escape briefly to sort out the finer details and remove themselves from Cenril and the situation entirely. Hudson's planned return to Cenril with no contact with his family, for their safety, turns into a mutual dissolution of their marriage. Alvina's shattered after killing Aubree, Candice's daughter. Aubree's death becomes the final straw in the ever present disdain for Hudson's dangerous and illegal business affairs.

Chapter One: Starting Over

A year has passed. Alvina, and eventually her children, come out of hiding and move to a rental home in Schezerade near the Bard's College while she figures out a new housing situation. Cenril is still not safe, beyond Hudson's business. Tensions are high with the struggle of plague outbreak in the city, as well as Mayor Uma being slandered in the press as a pawn for Hudson when she doesn't convict him of Candice's murder.

She touches base with her friends, rebuilding old connections with hopes of reforging relationships and repairing what she's able to after her year of silence. She learns many secrets from her old friends and while it's a quick slip back into a place she's known most of her life, the void left by time and consequence still aches and calls for aid.

While most of Cenril's goings on remain a mystery to Alvina, she becomes aware that Valrae will be running against Mayor Uma through a brief and awkward visit from Hudson in Schezerade. The two are cordial, with children still to raise, but make no moves to amend their broken marriage.

Chapter Two: Coming to Terms

Updated through letters about his children's lives, Hudson funds the lifestyle for his estranged family, including a new house Alvina's bought and commissioned to be remodeled by Xiem in Kelay-Sage, near the witch Lanara and the huntress Aira.

Alvina throws herself into projects such as Vinabre Cosmetics with Brennia, commissions and attempting to work with a Cenril Orphanage in bad repair. Hoping to both find solid ground on the other side of Aubree's murder and the consequences thereafter. For now, this only proves as a brief distraction from her grief. When did she become a person she no longer recognized?

Chapter Three: Gaining Ground

After Alvina's tear stained confession of murdering Aubree, Lanara suggests finding a way to make peace with the 'crime' and tells Alvina she's not a monster for what happened. According to the witch, Alvina was only doing what she thought she had to do to protect her family, just like Lanara did when she had to kill her own daughter to protect her homeland. The subject of an orphanage in Cenril is raised and Alvina likes the suggestion. Could helping other kids find loving homes and safety atone for Aubree's cruel demise?

Amid looking into helping the orphanage and getting the new house finished, Alvina is dragging Harper (the oldest twin) to therapy to deal with her parent's divorce. The teenager's behavior has increasingly escalated both at home and at school. Their other children rely on denial and repression to handle the change. Except Meadow, she's just a wolf pup with a short term memory.
