Zahrani || Once they're all in the clear (either on the boat or just really far away from the heatwave), the feline stops, panting heavily and pulling off her helmet. The adrenaline rush finally catches up to her, her body steaming slightly as she shift forms. She needed the additional sweat glands to help her distribute the head she had built up from just escaping. Once she catches her breath, she starts laughing wholeheartedly. What a rush. The panther pulls Khitti and Meri into a one-armed embrace for each of them (if they wanted one), continuing to laugh at just how ridiculously that mission just went.

Part of the Saurian Onslaught Arc

Summary: Members of the Adventurer's Guild and the Devout's Guild team up to take down one of the razurath mines. Inside it lies the mineral polarite, which is one of three needed to make the cathabraka metal that the razurath love so much. As with most things in Lithrydel, it ends with a bang.

Fengoth Falls, Venturil

Aetherclaw :: Once the Fengoth falls rumbled, but now it was silent. Water and mist that once filled a great valley had now dispaited, a massive valley lay open that seemed the farther it went west to stretch wider and wider indefinitely. It was as an ocean had once been here, and the water was all gone. The valley’s were green and rich, with forests stretching onward for hundreds of miles, up until in the distance great plains could be seen and stretching onward to the right and to the left of the immense valley two massive volcanoes continued to belch forth smoke high into the sky, and upon the slopes of the left most volcano, lava rushed down the slopes into a great lake of lava, held back by a great wall. But the horizon was not bare with only the landscape to add to its majesty, for colossal and tall structures rose up out of the forests like great lone citadels, made entirely from metal, seemed to gleam with glamor and majesty. One among them was several kilometers tall, but one further behind them, while not nearly as tall was utterly massive domed like a great ball half way into the earth, and around it a grand plaza easily several miles in length. To those with keen vision one might have made out the occasional small domed structures that were near miniscule by comparison, that dotted here and there across the plains and forest. To the north however where the Volcano on the right stood, lava was not in sight, but only great glaciers and where waterfalls once poured were now towers of ice, the entity of the northern slope of the valley was ice, and the ridge beyond it the air itself seemed to cool like and fall as if a liquid. This was the targeted place, this was the Polarite Refinery that laid just beyond the ridge, and had wrought upon this venturil and possibly soon to be Xalious and if not all of lithrydale a chilly winter air, that continued to cool the lands. Great metal pipelines carried the gas from afar, to the massive buildings where fire rose hundreds of feet high, out of massive concrete shafts inlaid into the ground, where colossal black smoke clouds arose as grand if not grander than the volcano itself. No doubt the forges were located there. This valley to those sensitive with magic, might have felt as if this place were a funnel, and all mana was being pulled towards this valley. Perhaps for some who witness this place, they realize who they are up against, while others brave on. The road ahead is not visible, but the pipe opened for maintenance is, perhaps the fastest route to the refinery is through this pipeline. Which rides along the cliffs until it ends beyond the ridge were the cold lies ahead.

Khitti || In whatever way the group chose to head to Fengoth Falls, they’d meet at dawn. The slowly rising sun would give them the opportunity to use the cover of darkness while they traveled and the sunlight itself would aid them, for however far down into the mines it might go. For Khitti and Meri, they went by boat. The Tranquility to be exact. Khitti wasn’t always of the mind to ask Brand for things when it came to his ship when he wasn’t even going to be on the mission--look, you don’t get in between Brand and his ship--but this one was particularly important. Should anyone else desire a ride from Cenril to Aedrebyrg, the other members of the party would be accommodated briefly, to get there and back. Anyone else was on their own, but it’d been proven effective by others that flying in works well enough too--though Scandal’s services would not be offered as previously discussed. Khitti knew the truth… but Khitti would keep it to herself. Like many other burdens in the past, she would bear this one as well, and wouldn’t let it see the light of day until Talyara knew. All anyone would be told was that Scandal was preoccupied with something else. Khitti’s Tikifhlee (a VERY LARGE sabrecat from the Shadow Plane) would be the ride from the shore to the mines itself, the cat well adept at keeping to the shadows and keeping its riders out of trouble.

Khitti || Once they got there, it became clear to Khitti that things were a lot different than the last time she’d been in this part of Venturil. When had that been exactly? The redhead hopped off the cat to survey the severe lack of a waterfall, as well as the recently-formed volcanoes, and razurath-made structures. And then it hit Khitti: the last time she’d been here was when the Warrior’s Guild was tasked with putting down Ameno a few years ago. “Just one more memory to add to the awful pile,” she muttered to herself as she stepped closer to the entrance of the mines. In a very unlady-like fashion, Khitti spat at the ground, and cursed the entirety of Venturil. It was only now that she fully realized how cold it was around here; the fact that her spit froze once it hit the ground made this known to her. “Alright, let’s get this over with. It’s cold as frak here and I’m not keen on starting winter early.” Khitti’s old and her bones can’t take it okay? Honestly, she’s not that old, but all this stuff she does is catching up to her early. Sometimes it really sucked being human and right now, she was hella jealous of the fact that everyone around her definitely was not. “Seika, make with the barrier, okay?” Before the sprite in her sword acquiesced, Khitti was quick to tell Eli, “You might want to stay away from it. Holy magic and all. You should be fine with the cold.” Khitti knew full well what it was like to live as a vampire in cold temperatures, after all. The holy magic barrier went up, previously used in order to keep a hella pregnant Khitti from melting in the desert while waiting for that idiot brother of hers to come back from the Shadow plane. “If there’s people in there… Razurath… and we’re met with resistance...” She sighed, knowing they would get the picture. “As far as I’m aware, the majority of the razurath that don’t agree with what’s going on has gotten the hell out of here. Do what needs to be done. Anyone else is more than likely brainwashed at this point to think that this is the “greater good”.”

Meri :: It has already been established that Meri has arrived with Khitti, which is really no surprise. The two of them are sisters not by blood but by bond. Why wouldn't Meri arrive with Khitti? The party meets at the falls and Meri takes in the changes that have been made to the area with a grim expression. The ranger cannot even begin to understand why the razurath thought this would be a good idea, but they were here now to put an end to this madness. Hopefully. The climates were cold but Meri has prepared accordingly, but there were plenty of other skilled individuals who were able to offer suitable defense against the cold. Namely Khitti. The blonde herself was already familiar with the details of the mission, for she and Khitti have discussed this prior to even arriving....but despite her familiarity the Devout's Guild leader is given full attention as she explains that the razurath who do not support these actions have probably already left. In short, Meri will not hold back. With the notion that she's going to do whatever she needs to do if she encounters any less than friendly razurtah, Meri advances the party forward through that seems like the most logical path into where they are going, through that pipeline. The werewolf is fairly intent on remaining one of the individuals in the lead. If any surprise attacks occur, well being a werewolf means she can take a few more hits than your average human.

Largakh arrives on the boat if he’s allotted passage and keeps to himself, silently praying to Hind and preparing himself for the task at hand for he’s not all for killing unless it’s the only way. Before they make the journey to the mines, he double checks the arrows in his quiver and the tautness of his long bow, then, he checks his twin tomahawks hilted at his sides which were repurposed from an old elven sword. Larz continues his stoic silence on through their short journey and listens intently to Miss Khitti’s commands, giving a curt nod at the last part before pulling his longbow free and notching an arrow to it. “May Hind guide me,” he mumbles under his breath to himself as he readies for the next step.

Zahrani swiftly navigates with the others, the feline armored from the neck down in treated platemail and a traveling cloak. Beneath her weathered garb, the feline has elected to utilize her more panther-like form, taking advantage of the extra warmth provided by her fur. Her ears pivot like fuzzy satellite dishes as she takes in the sounds coming from the strange valley. It feels like a fantasy out of a children’s book, the massive structures, and the symmetricality of the volcano and the icy mountain. She nods to Khitti and the others, understanding what’s at stake here. This faction of reptilians were enslaving people, and they threaten the very land itself with their machinations. From her satchel, the paladin pulls a balaclava-like plated helmet, the protective headwear tailored specifically for the heads of big cats. She pulls it over her dreadlocked head, and the plates fall into place with various clicking and whirring sounds. A faint amber glow, along with a steam-like mist, seems to emanate from the visor where her eyes are located, a side effect of the feline gathering her divine energy for combat. A crossbow is grabbed from over her shoulder, and she proceeds to follow her comrades into the mine. From a grille-like portion of her headgear, puffs of hot air escape as she jogs through the cold. A spear, mace, and shield are her other main armaments, not including her supplies.

Elioyahazer arranged for his own travel to this location and as assuredly as the sun does rise, the vampire has made it. Silently Eli meets up with and follows the group without uttering a single word. He had joined this party to get some recent frustrations out. By that, his inability to control the arcane anymore. It seems the vampiric curse was beginning to manifest within him; whatever would come out certainly isn't his former class… Instead, the desert born is dressed in his faded, black leather armor, with a zweihander resting against his shoulder. If I don't need a hand for casting, I'll just swing a bigger weapon. Mutated eyes are quick to take note of Khittis words with a nod, thankful for the respect of knowing. He would do his best to stay clear of that holy mess. As for the possibility of a fight? The desert born shrugs. “Understood.”

Aetherclaw :: As the pipeline is exited, and those that enter up through the hatch in the ladder, one might note that they have traveled further than they thought they have, some kind of enchantment has allowed those who traveled by the hatch in the pipeline over an extreme distance in under but a minute. As those who crawl up through the hatch might soon discover they are inside of metal structure with sounds in the hall way of Razurath workers, stripping off stretchable protective suits, while others seem to be monitoring a panel of glyphs pressing them when they light up, or when a sound like a boop is heard. The area of the building is small, but the windows that show the exterior reveal something not seen perhaps previously. A tall structure rises in front of a ridge. There is no snow, only ice on the outside and liquids seems to fall the tower cascading down it pouring over into what had once been pools of water, but the sound is different so very different, not heavy like water, almost lighter, and it adds to the suspence. The temperture outside must be cold, as what appears to be a dragon scuplture is stationed outside with its fire breath sculpted cleverly out of ice, however closer examination bears horrific detail that the Dragon in question was actually frozen solid by the enivorment outside, and its very firebreath frozen in ice. IF this is not intimidating enough, several Razurath have by now noticed your prescence, and because this is is a razurath only zone, and because of your arms at hand, its very likely that even these non red razurath works, are reaching for whatever they can to defend themselves. (You have 12 enemies to defeat in this station, use the suits they have to be able to venture outside, unless you have a mage who may be able to create a small heat source, whichever the case, that falling water outside is not water, its the atomosphere liquidizing because of the extreme cold emnanting from the base of the tower.)

Aetherclaw :: A Razurath can be seen painting a new sign around the corner.

Aetherclaw :: (for those who need suits) The suits are stretchable, and now worn by a humanoid the space for the tail is now gone. The fabric is silk like in feeling, but as it stretches over the body it holds tight to the skin. Even as those who step out into the near absoulte zero temptures the suits keep the body heat in, and a clear mask of the same fabric is around the face allowing for those to wearing it to see out of it without problem. The one downside is that the Razurath wearing this last had slightly cooler bodies than those who now wear it, so the temperture of the inside of the suits is only lightly cold, as compared to the outside.

Khitti was perfectly fine with Meri leading the way. She’s definitely the aforementioned ‘average human’. Her own attire was much akin to Eli’s, the redhead dressed in her own soft black leather outfit. Both katana and wakizashi were unsheathed as she followed along behind her sister. They’d take the path that’s needed to get to where they were going, the razurath soon spotted. “Frakking figures. Can nothing ever be easy for me?” Fueling her own magic into the sword, the holy barrier’s walls are widened even more. “Frak the suits. Just stay in the bubble! Let them come to you if need be.” Despite Meri’s meat-shield-iness, Khitti would pass by her and start up the hack and slash marathon. She’d been feeling a bit more stabby lately and it showed. No magic was utilized at all for now, the bulk of her focus going to stabilized the holy aura. No, for now Khitti would have to rely on the anger that’d been building up as of late, thanks to all the friends she’d lost and the things that’d been going on with the Shadow Plane. The mask of a Super Nice Guild Leader had fallen away and now she seemed much more like she had been before she got her vampirism cure.

Meri was a woman who wore many hats. Some of them were far more known than others, like being the leader of the Adventurer's Guild. Other roles played were intentionally kept more secretive, like her involvement with the rogue's guild. The point is, the woman is quite adept at sleuthing and sneaking around...and it is not every day that she is so easily noticed when trying to sneak into a place. But the party brought was larger than she normally worked with in these cases, so that made sneaking harder. It did not matter if she was content to play the role of meat shield, Khitti was blazing past her and jumping straight into battle. Meri would be hot on her heels. There might be twelve enemies to defeat but there numbers were quickly steadily decreasing to zero. With the help of Zahrani, Larz and Eli, soon they'll have this station cleared and will be able to proceed. It should be noted that Meri is not proceeding with one of the suits.

Zahrani keeps inside the holy aura being generated by Khitti, the panther's own divine power bolstering their environmental shield. Glowing cyan eyes look out through her helm, taking in the hostile reptiles. Should the Razurath attempt to rush them, Rani would loose a crossbow bolt right between their eyes, and for those (un)fortunate enough to get close to her, she would shoulder the projectile weapon, deploying her shield for incoming blows with their improvised weapons, before the paladin unleashes swift blows with her mace, aiming for their heads, their feet and their knees. A deep growl resonates within her suit of armor, accompanied by a jet of mist from her mouthpiece. The feline is adaptive with her fighting style, and she's particularly deadly the closer she is to her foes. Bone-breaking and leverage, while focusing her divine abilities on keeping out the cold.

Zahrani is also not going for a suit.

Elioyahazer sneers at the cold they stumble upon - thank Vak he was already a vampire, but at the same time damn these Razurath. If he had his arcane abilities still, this temp would be little problem. Regardless, he steps up to the plate, figuratively, cutting down an enemy that had just stripped out of a suit. Giving that massive weapon a baseball styled swing as if he were a little leaguer himself. The body, splits in half from his reckless Vampiric backed strength sending a grotesque wave of oily blood out in a show of force. While their numbers dwindled from their attack, the desert born puts a suit on. Picking the thing up from right off of the ground. It's a massive improvement to the temperature, which is good. Simply because he can't go anywhere near Khittis aura. Being a vamp had it's setbacks. But it also had its perks. Eli finally catches up, and rejoins the fray. To make matters even worse, turns out Zahrani is also a paladin of some type, and Eli must be careful.

Largakh recognizes Zaharni, but keeps his firm expression in the seriousness of the situation at hand and simply nods to the paladin. It doesn’t take larz long to decide to don a suit so he can have free reign to move about and use his bow or axes if an enemy closes in on the orc. Sure he could probably withstand the cold a little better than most, but not to this extreme. His lithe and tall body somehow slips into one of the suits with his light leather armor still on, but he still chooses to keep within the holy bubble for now. Readying his bow once more, he narrows his gaze to scan about and begin to form a game plan befitting his own abilities.

Aetherclaw :: Whether it is by magic, or by the suits you aqquired by way of the those stored at the pipeline station, you journey has no doubt been full of its own hazards traversing the ice laden fields. The tower now certainly more visible as you near it, is nothing short of tremendous. The structure like artifical mountain three pronged and diamond shaped rising vertially tremendously into the sky like three sided barb shaped arrow head. At the base of the structure where the barbs of this arrow head shaped structure sits are three massive orbs which radiated with intense magical energy, obviously collosal mana batteries used to power the portal at the center of this massive refinery. The wind in this area is intense, hand rails are thankfully kept in place by the workers that would have worked this structure, useful for moving forward in this intense wind. As you wind up the steps on the external side of this structure numerous pipes some as wide as whales, seem to come up and out of the central portal of the divert away from the structure either back of the pipeline, or to other pipelines, such as the one in the far distance where an equally massive tower radiates a tremendous flame that continues some kilometers into the sky long after leaving the tower. Its obvious that from the realm in which polarite naturally exists that their are highly flammable gases and liquids that are drawn up and out along with the gasous super cold polarite, perhaps the liquid air that continues to drop into the maw of this massive 1/2 mile wide portal is the secret to its destruction, as the air plummets through it would now allow the gases to finally ignite in the micro realm. But what one has to think about is, what result would this produce, how could it be done, and worse how to get away in time? (Liquid oxygen falling through the portal into a micro plane of existence where oxygen doesn't exist, alongside highly flammable, super cold gases along with polarite could cause one of two things, either a ruptureing the external portal rim causing the portal to expand and pull the refinery and most of the valley into it before collapsing, or produces and explosion which consumes the valley, whichever soultion ought to be thought out, because both hold dire consquences.)

Aetherclaw :: Those who like reading signs: A sign here in exists in the runic language of razurath as well as the common lithrydale basic. Both read: "Extreme danger, Extreme Cold," While others read run along pipes, reading "High pressure outgoing" "Low Pressure intake" "Xenite Gas, highly flammable" "Polarite Gas, contents under extreme pressure, do not handle till liquid" A sign with a Razurath picture with several bullet points on safety tips hangs: "Don't remove safety suit until inside a heat structure, change pipes channels every two hours, remove all ice build up from inside pipes, do not step on others tails. If you have dementhe poisoning report it and you will be paid and taken care of immediatly." Lastly a sign hangs over a control box, with a number of days without accident. The current number is 999, pity they missed out on a thousand.

Khitti || The Super-Awesome-Badass Team (+1 human) would blow through those razurath as if they were nothing. Some opted for suits, where others did not. Whatever way chosen, however, the raptors were defeated. They found their way to the pipeline station and… Khitti wasn’t sure what the hell she was expecting, but it wasn’t this. These razurath had not built a normal mine, that’s for damn sure. Each aspect of the tower was studied carefully by the redhead, a ‘hm’ let out to signify that the gears in her head was turning. “I literally have no idea what any of this is, but I think we should just blow it up. That method of problem-solving hasn’t backfired on me yet.” Meri, please do not bring up all the times that Khitti’s gotten hurt because of her “problem-solving”. “I think if we give it everything we’ve got, magic and physical weapons alike,” she said, nodding in Larz’s bow’s direction, “it might just do the trick.” Those signs finally caught Khitti’s attention then, to which she smirked at it and just shook her head. “If this stuff’s flammable, then all the better.” Meri now was the focus of her line of sight, the redhead asking hesitantly, “Do you think you can contain it? Keep it centered on the portal alone? Any debris might help plug it up a bit.” Khitti sighed, “If this was a damn portal to the Shadow Plane, this would be far easier.” But it wasn’t. “If anyone else has any other ideas, then I’m all ears.” Should they take the explody route, Khitti would do her best to keep up the barrier while also conjuring up holy fire balls to throw into the portal.

Meri :: Did Meri think that she would be able to contain any sort of explosion that the group would create? Well all the blonde could do was shrug....which may not inspire a lot of confidence in her comrades. Yet those who know Meri should know that the psion has never been the bragging sort. If Meri was going to do this thing, she was going to need to concentrate and to concentrate hard, which usually renders Meri quite useless for if she gets distracted then her psionic work is brought to an abrupt end. The woman focuses her gaze on the portal at the center, visualizing a spherical barrier surrounding the portal that Khitti wants contained. No one in her party would actually be able to see this barrier that the psion was manifesting, they would just have to trust that it is being done. Of course, they still needed some means of actually making things go bomb for Meri to contain it...said sphere could not be completely sealed. The timing of this had to be just right...or else they'd all go boom. The psion is concentrating and doing her thing while the others continue to flesh out this plan of action. Or maybe come up with a new one entirely. Meri will adjust her actions accordingly if need be, but a big explosion sounded good to her right about now.

Largakh gulps at the mention of fire when a prickle of fear crawls up is pine green skin. He isn’t a fan of fire whatsoever… as long as it is well contained and not directed at him though - he’ll manage. A half smirk to Miss Khitti regardless of the panic he is feeling, but the idea of causing an explosion and hurrying out of the entrance ~would~ draw whatever serving ones out for easier elimination. “It would funnel them all out to us if we go with an explosion,” and regardless of his fear, he finishes, “I vote for that plan of action.” Now he’s wondering if this suit he has on now is flammable.

Zahrani pulls out a spy-glass from her utility belt, trying to get a more focused look on the portal itself, before looking at its power supplies. To the rest of the group, she has to speak slightly louder, her voice slightly muffled by her helmet's faceplate. "My question is: what's keeping this thing open? I don't know how far this explosion might spread if we don't pick a target, my friends..." The panther walks up to Khitti, handing he the spyglass and pointing to the structure that connects the portal to its mana batteries, "If we can focus the explosion there, that might be enough to collapse the gateway without us having to outrun any collateral damage." It would be a nice first-resort. For someone who fights via a heavy blunt instrument, the paladin is surprisingly precise with her demolition tactics. "If that doesn't work, then we can fall back to exploding." She looks back at the signs the redhead had been observing, "'Change pipes every two hours...?'" So if they just waited and made sure nobody came up to change the pipes, what then? Would it cause an explosion, or did the Razurath have something in place to keep that from happening? Who knows; it's just one unknown after the other on this mission.

Elioyahazer finds himself suddenly transported to a place of wind and cold. The cloak tied around his frame whips about madly, pulling the hood straight off the helm of his commandeered suit. Well, he's certainly glad for that, though his thoughts are really cut short. A hand reflexively grabs a railing, keeping him from being tossed like paper in a gust of wind. This place is madness. His mutated eyes shift to the structure, studying it as best he can. When did they build this? His mouth goes slack jawed, eyes squinting. Eventually he composes himself and reads the signs. Flammable. That's the gist that he gets from it all. Mutated eyes take a moment to flick to each party member, while he still keeps himself outside of Khittis zone of terror. Perfect name for that. Finally his gaze moves to the piping. Then to his sword and back. The vampire has realized that it's really a simple matter, honestly. Meanwhile, his gaze keeps moving back and forth. Stab the tube, he thinks to himself? Nah… These people were comrades. Their plans started being formulated and Eli chirps in right after Zahrani. “Well, if they have to change pipes, there's got to be a gas shut off right? They can't just pull a tube, and leave it running. Let's form groups, find it, then commence operation destroy the tubes and everything else once it's shut down.” It would be a hazard to their own people otherwise. Especially among a group as divided as the Razurath. They weren't that crazy were they?

Aetherclaw :: Perhaps its fate, or sheer luck, or just the sheer absurdity of both, below, oblivious to the attackers above them, two suited raptors, walk side by side, with a pair of cups and straws inserting into their suits, and presumable there mouths. "So the valves broke again?" The other nodded adding, "Yeah its the problem when you work with metal in these cold cold temperatures." "Pity, means that we'll have to redirect the flow to Alpha rather than flow on the bigger beta," As they continue to walk oblvious, "Oh the mercury ring is at it again, if we are not careful, it'll crack and the portal will expand until theres no mana left in bulbs." "Coffee break?" "Why not?" The two continue to walk away oblvious to those above them, their conversation highly likely overheard.

Khitti || To be honest, just being around Khitti sans holy aura can be called the Zone of Terror. “While I’m typically all for preservation of incredibly interesting things like these structures we’ve gone through, shutting down the pipes will more than likely not get rid of the portal. I’m well acquainted with the ways of opening portals to another realm and it takes a massive amount of magic to get it done, rune or otherwise. They’d just lay down new pipes for harvesting the mineral. We -can’t- have that. Look at what it’s doing to Venturil.” Not that she really -wants- to save Venturil, but… “It’ll continue east. I’m -not- letting it get to my home.” The cold was one of the many reasons she no longer lived in Frostmaw, after all. “The razurath need to go. Their weird structures and anti-magic metal needs to go. If you’re not keen on helping, then I respect that--” Khitti blinked a few times as the wind in the area brought the razurath voices up from down below. “That’s convenient.” She smirked, then shook her head, “No valve then. Larz and Zahrani, can you shattered those with your bow and crossbow?” A hand gestured towards the mana batteries. “Once those are gone, we blow the thing up and go home. I need a goddamn drink after all of this.” Once things had been taken care of (ie: any preparation needed and the batteries were destroyed), and Meri was ready to contain the explosion, Khitti’d start flinging fireballs into the portal. Much like she’d said moments ago, she was giving it everything she had--but hopefully it meant that her aura would keep on being a thing.

Meri :: Really there was only so much that Meri could contribute at this point. Stopping what she was currently doing to form a search party was entirely counter-productive for her, the rest of the group would have to do that venture on their own. Or would they? By the sounds of things luck was not on their side. The unseen psionic barrier that Meri has formed around the portal remains nearly finished, almost contained, with opening enough to allow for a spark of some sort to somehow make it inside of the barrier. In short, she never stopped being ready for this thing to happen....Let's make something go boom, guys.

Largakh nods once at the command and raises his bow, takes a deep breath, aims and with a surprising quickness shoot off enough arrows to do just as he’s instructed while currently staying within the protective barrier that Miss Khitti is providing. He keeps a sharp eye out for any instructions while his keen sense of hearing focuses on new commands or the surrounding possible dangers.

Zahrani was about to point out that she's more concerned about preserving a feasible exit strategy than preserving this monstrous structure, but just as she opens her mouth, she overhears the conversation below them. Not only are they lucky that the portal is so tenuously propped, they're lucky the Razurath beneath them were speaking common tongue. Without a word, the panther takes a spotter position next to Larz as he starts shooting, her spyglass raised as she see where each arrow has impacted and caused weaknesses in the power suppliers. Her telescope is lowered, and out comes the crossbow once more. Using the rail to stabilize her shot, and taking in the wild wind about them, she takes aim at an arc. A crossbow bolt, glowing with divine amber light, sails into the wind, before hitting a weak spot created by one of the half-orc's arrows. The mana battery makes a hissing sound, and then a cracking sound akin to a lightning strike echoes through the valley. ~BOOM!~ "That might have just done it." Would that be enough to destabilize the portal and help them sabotage the Razurath operation here?

Elioyahazer drops his thoughts and hunkers down in seriousness. It was time to get to the crushinating. With a deep grin and a devilish smirk he commences turning pipe near the portal, and inside Meris barrier, into an impaled mess. How? Probably by his zweihander, which is sailing through the air, end over end. Well…. That was dumb; of course that wouldn't work. A gust of wind snags it and throws it off course and let's be honest, it was never going to make it - what else could he do?. Frankly, he didn't possess the oomph to give it more than that. Then the kaboom happens. Any luck he might of had at regaining it, is long gone. “Well, s-” the sound of wind blocking out his obscenity. Instead Eli starts fleeing in a most hasty retreat. Obviously he doesn't know about Meri or her abilities. It was time to scram.

Aetherclaw :: Like the internal sound of when something is inhaled is the same sound that seems to scream out from the portal now, sirens erupt across the facility, as the mana batteries change from their blue glow turning purple and and then red, the air is picking up dragging everything towards, it pipes begin to crack as the iris of the portal begins to widen. The two same Razurath look over at the whole din of the noise and look at each other, and say, "Uh best case scenario?" The other looks at him, "Valley go boom." The other shakes his head, "Well if you gotta go, go out with a bang, makes you wish we had made that reset button a priority now, don't it?" Despite their comments the tower groans, as the strain of the portal produces a shower of sparks, as parts of the tower begin to shatter from the extreme cold. For those adventurous heros, if they want to get away now is the time.

Khitti was glad for Meri’s psionics right now. Her brilliant plan could’ve potentially destroyed them all! But, look, it’s not a real adventure with Khitti if a bit of doom and gloom doesn’t happen. There’s no gloom this time around, but there’s absolutely doom. DOOM ON YOU ALL. In the form of everything crumbling. “Oh. Oh frak. Okay, uh, time to go, Meri!” Khitti’s sister needed a bit of help thanks to having used far too much of her mind powers to deal with Khitti’s Bad Idea™, so the redhead grabbed the blonde’s hand and pulled her along towards the exit. The others that require that lovely holy aura to stay out of the remnants of the cold really should keep up with her. Khitti might not be a vampire anymore, but she’s damn fast when she needs to be because this having to run away from danger thing happens to her often. #I’mSorryNotSorryEveryone

Largakh visibly flinches when everything starts to bluhm into large balls of flame in the beginnings of an explosion. Boy! You don’t have to tell Larz to keep up, that long legged green freak is right on their heels and being propelled by nothing but fear. No doubt he’s screaming internally, eyes comically wide as his lips are pressed to a thin line.

Zahrani re-secures her crossbow as the place starts to collapse. With Eli running ahead of them, the feline brings up the rear of the group currently using their divine shield against the cold, making sure no one gets left behind. ~Go, go, go, go!~ is currently running through her mind. The paladin runs surprisingly fast in the platemail. In the back of her mind, the feline can't help but feel like that was easier than it should have been; the gods must ~really~ want them to sabotage this mine. Either way, she wouldn't stop running and encouraging her comrades to do the same, until they were right back where they started.

Elioyahazer has already been moving - turning into the Vampiric gingerbread man the moment it started. His mind is shouting worried thoughts with every step, but these don't stop his Terminator styled, unyielding run. You're all just too slow, but if this explosion was a hungry dragon…. None of us would be eaten or something like that. However this vamp has even more reasons to run.. Khittis holy aura behind him, which isn't a fun thought either. He had thrice the problems, cause he also just remembered Zahrani....Eli picks up his pace.

Aetherclaw :: For those brave adventures who had escaped to the safety distance, what lay behind them took, flight, there backs turned from the valley, a brilliant and harsh light filled the world around them, brighter than any sun, or any dragon had dealt. As sky darkned in comparison to the harsh light, a secondary flash ripped through the valley, causing the deaths of all who dwelt in it, the volcano collapsing into powder and lava, the fengoth being freed of it blockage, and behold the great and terrible explosion which now was not simply in the distance but rose up and above them, blotting out the horizon and filling sky. Dreaded moments continued to pass as the sky continued to darken, and ash soon fell like snow upon the land, along with trillion of particles and solid rocks of polarite, making what ever wise and savy person to set up a mine in venturil, a wealthy man produced of polarite, and presumed to be Dementhe, but with that would come another toxic cost, one that would remain unsettled for years to come, but thank the gods the cold was gone, and as the shockwave ran up the sides of the cliff, and defened all others sounds, the heat from this explosion soon began to fill the area, it probably best to leave before it grew unbearable.
