A vast majority of Hollows monsters come from real mythology. Most of what they actually are/were intended to be is listed here:

There are a few exceptions, as naming the monsters was opened to the public due to the fact there were so many of them. So there are a few that even I don't know what they are supposed to be as I've since lost the discriptions that were sent to me.--Vgfh 07:07, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
