Kharet/Janus's 'WTF is that?!?!?!?!!?11' guide.

This'll only be a vague guide of things pulled from the net to better depict some of the more obscure mobs out in the game. I won't add most of the general things such as troll or wraith, as the majority will have a fair idea of what those are, and beetle, eagle etc I would definitely hope everyone knows. If you don't know something that's not on the list, just use Google. It's what I did when compiling this. Since it's all public info anyway, just consolidated for ease of use, feel free to pinch anything from this list and use it wherever you want. This is by no means an end-all source for defining what these creatures are, since so many come from various tales in history from a wide range of cultures. Just trying to help give people an idea of what they could be seen as. Also, information for some is frankly crap, but there was not a lot on them I could find, or they didn't need much explanation. I've tried to leave out cultural references as much as possible, and also changed names that are particular to an individual in lore to a more general reference. Just edit things that are wrong, or if you are the one that added them to the game, put what you had in mind when doing so.

Contents

[edit] A

Adaro - Malevolent merman-like sea spirits said to arise from the wicked part of a person's spirit, an adaro is described as a human with gills behind his ears, tail fins for feet, a horn like a shark's dorsal fin, and a swordfish or sawfish-like spear growing out of his head.

Ahuizotl - Half dog, half monkey, with a hand protruding from the end of its tail. The Ahuizotl is greatly feared due to its liking for humanoid flesh, especially nails, eyes, and teeth. It generally lives in or near the water and uses the hand on the end of its tail to snatch its prey.

While they have half the height of human babies, their heads are fully twice as large, with angular eyes and hair that never grows longer than about half an inch. Their bodies are a combination of flesh and wood fibers, forming a material similar in many properties to cork.

Benu - a bird resembling a stalk, perhaps related to the phoenix since it lives forever.

Bwbachod - Servants of the Wood. The Bwbachod are five foot high stick men, with thick bark-like skin. Their long arms and legs move stiffly, but they have the advantage of camoflage in any woodland environment. They are the 'children' of Nynniaw, who rules the forest. The Bwbachod can appear or disappear at any time when they are in a faerie forest. If they attack, they almost always stike first, appearing suddenly from the forest undergrowth and foliage. Bwbachod average slightly shorted than a man and have thick bark for skin. They have long arms and legs, often bent like branches, which move stiffly but surprisingly swiftly. They are children of Nynniaw, but appear to also follow the word of Llyn y Fan. They act to protect the faerie woodlands from harm. It would be unwise to affront them. For, although they rank not highly, they are hard to sight in the forest and exceptionally tough. If they set upon you in any number then it is worth remembering that they are vulnerable to fire.
