Mind Flayer: Mind Flayers originate in D&D and are monsters known only to the Underdark. Mind Flayers use only psionics to communicate, fight, or even kill. They are a worthy adversary when faced in battle for they can make you feel hopeless, insinuate thoughts and emotions into your mind should they choose to. It is obvious of what they are capable of, given their name. The only thing notable about them is that they have an octopus-like head and only four fingers on each hand while their skin is a dark purple, blue, or grey color.

Taniwha: Taniwha is a Maori mythical monster or demon that dwells in the harbours and inlets around the coastline of New Zealand, especially in places with dangerous currents or deceptive breakers. According to mythology, Maui was out fishing one day. He threw down his hook into the deep ocean, and when he pulled his line in, it was hooked to the mouth of a large taniwha. It tried to kill Maui, but Maui jumped out of his boat onto the massive water beast, and hacked it up with his greenstone patu. The opened gashes of the taniwha erupted, creating the mountains of New Zealand. -- Or something like that.
